![]() He earned both his bachelor’s degree in political science and law degree from the University of Florida. His efforts outside of the office have included serving as a member of the Grievance Committee for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and serving as chair of the City of Jacksonville’s Ethics Commission.Īs Chief Assistant, Hutton supervises operations in all three counties. During his almost 16 years with the firm, Hutton took on a variety of cases, including complex white-collar trials in federal court, state, and federal grand jury investigations, and capital murder cases. In 2001, he joined the law firm of Willis, Ferebee & Hutton as a partner to continue his career in criminal law at the state and federal levels. He was appointed to the Special Prosecution Unit and also was a member of the hiring committee during his initial tenure with the office. Hutton began his legal career in 1998 as an Assistant State Attorney and prosecuted homicides, white collar crimes, drug-related violations, and violent felonies. I’m learning more about maximizing social media platforms through my son, Eric, who’s Director of Social and Digital Media for the UCF Athletic Department. We’re doing our job when Advertising and Marketing succeed in fulfilling their respective goals. I’m very appreciative of the support and opportunities the Times-Union has given me and my department to contribute to a multitude of initiatives, whether it’s providing a work environment conducive to producing new sections – both print and digital – or writing scripts for marketing videos. How are you set up for success at Times-Union Media? ![]() Our staff has become more digital savvy, especially our creative copy writer, Jacqueline Persandi. It was a natural transition for our Specialty Publications staff to go from print-only stories and business spotlights to compelling sponsored content for Advertising and Marketing’s digital initiatives. What drew you to the digital marketing industry? Not once have I regretted the move to the revenue-generating side of the business. It was in 1996 that I was given another opportunity by the T-U to develop a specialty publications department. I was offered the opportunity to get back into the newspaper business as sports editor of The Florida Times-Union after leaving the Tampa Tribune in 1990 as executive sports editor to serve as the first executive director of the Florida Sports Hall of Fame when it was in Lake City.
